Rosemont, Ill. —Angie Loy has joined Restonic Mattress Corp. as a sales representative at the Johnson City, Tenn., plant.
She has 14 years sales experience with Choicedata, where she sold business credit reporting services and was the top salesperson for most of her career.
Phil Roach has joined the sales team of Restonic's Toledo, Iowa, plant. He covers western Iowa, southern South Dakota and southwestern Minnesota.
He has an extensive retail sales background with such companies as Montgomery Ward, Select Comfot and Slumberland.
Universal Furniture
High Point —Shaun M. Sorensen has been named senior sales representative for case goods resource Universal Furniture International. He will cover the territory of Utah, southern Idaho and eastern Nevada.
Sorensen has spent the past five years representing major furniture manufacturers in Utah and Denver.
In his new post, he will focus on retailer service and support, including professional development and training programs, strategic growth directives and service initiatives.
Whitewood Inds.
High Point, N.C. —Jason Gill has been added to the sales staff at Whitewood Inds.' casual dining division, John Thomas Furniture. Gill is a recent graduate of N.C. State University's Textile and Apparel Management program.
Tupelo Furniture Market
Tupelo, Miss. —Erin McMurchy has joined the sales team at the Tupelo Furniture Market as a leasing agent. She is a recent graduate of Mississippi State University with a B.A. in marketing.
Awards
Domain Home Fashions
Boston —Judy George, founder and chief executive officer of 27-store Northeast specialty home furnishings chain Domain Home Fashions and director of U.S. retail operations for Aga PLC, has been named a 2003 Ernst & Young New England Entrepreneur of the Year.
She opened the first Domain store in Chestnut Hill, Mass., in 1986. In 2002, Domain was acquired by Aga, a United Kingdom-based kitchen products company, and George was named to its board and as its director of U.S. consumer brands.
The award by the accounting and consulting firm acknowledges her contributions to the retail industry, women in business and the communities in which Domain operates.
In 1996, she was asked by President Clinton to participate in the Women in Trade Business Development Mission to Amsterdam and London, representing U.S. women CEOs.
George will compete this fall with other regional winners for National Entrepreneur of the Year awards.
