Cambridge, Ontario — Industry veteran Iain Douglas has joined decorative fireplace producer Dimplex North America as Canadian sales manager for its furniture division.
He succeeds Cheri McKen, who has been named the company's sales administration manager.
Douglas will be responsible for sales of the Symphony and Symphony Encore brands of electric fireplaces to Canadian furniture retailers. He reports to Rusty Calloway, North American business development manager.
For 18 years, Douglas was a senior executive at La-Z-Boy Canada, first as sales manager and then as vice president of sales and marketing. Since leaving La-Z-Boy in early 2002, he has operated his own sales agency, representing several furniture lines in the Ontario market. Prior to joining La-Z-Boy, he operated his own furniture manufacturing company, Baetz Fine Furniture.
Dimplex North America is a division of the Glen-Dimplex Group, a leading manufacturer of electric heating and small domestic appliances.
