Lunch and Learn program to focus on exports

The International Trade Division of the North Carolina Department of Commerce is hosting a series of Lunch and Learn programs April 7 to 11 at each of its Export Ready locations across the state. All meetings are set for noon to 2 p.m.

Attendees will meet one of North Carolina's six foreign trade representatives from Toronto, Mexico City, Frankfurt, Germany, Tokyo or Hong Kong. There also will be representatives from the N.C. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Export Assistance Center, the State Ports Authority, the World Trade Center of N.C., the North Carolina World Trade Assn., the Small Business and Technology Development Center and the seven N.C. Regional Economic Development Partnerships.

The meeting schedule is:

  • Asheville: Monday, April 7 — Buncombe Technical Community College, Enka Campus.

  • Charlotte: Tuesday, April 8 — Central Piedmont Community College, West Campus.

  • Winston-Salem: Wednesday, April 9 — Brookstown Inn Hotel.

  • Raleigh: Thursday, April 10 — Wake Technical Community College, Cary.

  • Elizabeth City: Friday, April 11 — College of the Albemarle.

  • Kinston: Friday, April 11 — Global Transpark Authority.

  • Wilmington: Friday, April 11 — Cape Fear Community College.

The Export Ready program is designed to prepare North Carolina businesses and business people to sell their products and/or services in the international marketplace.

Representatives will guide participants through the export process, with current detailed information and practical real-life examples.
