Dallas — Cathy Lindsey has joined custom leather upholstery producer American Leather as merchandising manager, a newly created position.
Lindsey most recently was vice president of merchandising for chair manufacturer Sam Moore, a division of La-Z-Boy. Previously, she was a buyer for Dillards for 13 years.
At American Leather, Lindsey is responsible for collaborating with the sales, marketing and product development divisions to create products and select new leathers. She also works with major retail accounts to develop products. She reports to Cary Benson, vice president of sales and marketing.
"Cathy brings with her a breadth of industry experience that will be invaluable to our sales and marketing efforts," Benson said. "Her knowledge, from both the manufacturing and retail perspective, will allow us to better serve the needs of our retail partners while helping to build the American Leather brand name with consumers."
