Cargo honors 183 safe drivers

Claremont, N.C. — Delivery specialist Cargo Transporters has honored 183 drivers with safe driving records with bonuses totaling more than $442,500.

All recipients were eligible for three drawings, one for a 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle and two for cash awards.

"We are proud to be able to reward our people in this fashion," said John Pope, president. "With increasing traffic volumes, road construction and many other challenges of driving a big rig, it is a major accomplishment to drive all year without an accident or incident."

The company also recognized two drivers for long records of accident-free driving — Max Green for 20 years and Richard Spears for 18 years.
