High Point — Third-generation furniture sales representative Jim Webb launched Outlook Home Furnishings, a case goods importer with 10 collections at market.
Outlook sources bedroom, dining and home entertainment from five plants in north and south China, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines. Webb, with 20 years experience repping case goods makers and importers, is president.
"I've aligned with some of the nicer plants over there who already are providing product for a number of companies," he said.
Outlook focuses on the $999 retail price point for a your-choice option of bed and dresser/mirror or armoire, based on direct container cost, and ranges as high as $1,999 on beds and other major case pieces.
While concentrating on container-direct customers, the company will service others out of a 130,000-square-foot warehouse in metro New York. A 30,000- to 50,000-square-foot Los Angeles-area warehouse is slated to open July 1 to consolidate orders for non-container West Coast customers.
Webb has recruited a national network of veteran reps.
