Jaclyn Smith to launch Largo line with appearances at key retailers

Houston — Jaclyn Smith will back the retail launch of her licensed furniture collection at Largo Furniture with personal appearances, the first set for May 10 at Star Furniture's new store in her hometown of Houston.
"The fact that Jaclyn is from Houston is going to make the opening even more exciting," said Glenn Wakefield, president of Largo. "We're thrilled that she will be involved in this launch."
The actress and designer learned the value of personal contact with consumers during 18 years of designing a successful apparel line.
"I got out there and met my customers, and went to the stores," she said. "I always take something away from the customer that I can use."
Smith also wants to see the stores and how they merchandise the collection through fabric choices, accessories and presentation.
She is a collector of antiques, and several of the new pieces in the furniture collection are reproduced from items in her own home.
Smith is scheduled to attend the retail launch of Jaclyn Smith Home by Largo at Jordan's Furniture on June 21, and Nebraska Furniture Mart on Sept. 7.
