Relax-R expands chair line

Milton, Vt. — Relax-R has significantly expanded its specialty chair lineup with a new group of reclining chairs and glider rockers made in China and a collection of wood glider rockers made in Canada.
The merchandise, unveiled at the April market in the company's new showroom at Market On Green, should enable Relax-R to expand its dealer base by offering a wider variety of styles and price points, said Dan Ide, vice president of sales and marketing.
"The response was fabulous," Ide said. "We're trying to position ourselves as the best specialty chair resource."
The Chinese-made products are being marketed under the name Quantum Furniture by Relax-R. The lineup features a dozen reclining chairs with metal bases retailing for $169 to $599 with a leather/vinyl cover.
The wood gliders — Relax-R's first venture into that product category — retail for $349 to $499.
The company's core lineup of medium to upper-end glider rockers and recliners will continue to be produced at its headquarters plant in Milton.
