Lunsford joins Hickory Springs

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, April 13, 2003

Components supplier Hickory Springs Mfg. has hired former fabric executive Lee Lunsford as senior vice president of operations, a newly created position.

He was president of Guilford Mills' apparel division. At Hickory Springs, he is responsible for daily operations, including manufacturing and sales, and reports to President Don Coleman.

"With his broad experience in management, Lee is exceptionally qualified to bring additional insights and opportunities to Hickory Springs," said Coleman.

Lunsford began his career in 1980 as a plant supervisor at Dan River Mills, advancing to general manager of the apparel division before moving to Guilford Mills.

"Lee is a people person," said Coleman, who plans to spend more time on strategic planning and customer relations. "He is a good communicator and he will work well with our current management to ensure Hickory Springs' future growth and stability."
