Masco promotes Barry to COO

Taylor, Mich. — Home products giant Masco has promoted Alan Barry, a company executive since 1972 and a group president since 1996, to president and chief operating officer.
He replaces the late Ray Kennedy, who died earlier this year.
Barry joined Brass Craft Mfg. Co., a Masco division, in 1972 as controller and became its president in 1988. Since 1996, he has been a group president for Masco Corp. He was instrumental in creating and managing Masco Contractor Services, a $2 billion business that is the largest installer of products in homes throughout the United States. He also has had responsibility for other Masco businesses with nearly $1 billion in revenues.
"We are fortunate to have someone at Masco assume the presidency who is well known and respected both within the company and throughout our industry," said Richard Manoogian, chairman and chief executive officer.
In addition to its plumbing, cabinet and other home products businesses, Masco owns furniture producers Mill's Pride, d-Scan and Tvilum-Scanbirk.
