Executives

Leda Furniture

Toronto — Industry veteran Richard Graves has joined high-end case goods producer Leda Furniture as vice president of sales and marketing. He succeeds Bill Frank, who left the company to pursue other interests.

"Graves will oversee Leda's sales and marketing efforts in the United States and also will participate in new product development for our residential furniture division," said George Sinclair, executive vice president of sales and marketing.

Graves most recently was vice president of sales and marketing for Hickory White, and has held senior marketing posts at Southern Furniture of Conover and Lexington Home Brands. He also was vice president of merchandising for JCPenney and began his career at retailer Willis Wayside in Virginia Beach, Va.

Sinclair said Graves "has outstanding relationships with many of our key retail partners, and his extensive industry experience will help us double our sales over the next three years."

Décor-Rest Furniture

Woodbridge, Ontario — Ron Penney has returned to upholstery maker Décor-Rest Furniture as export and marketing manager after a three-month hiatus as case goods buyer for The Bay.

He has been given expanded responsibilities at the company, which unveiled its Alexander Julian upholstery line at the April High Point market.

"I'll be responsible for all our export sales to the United States and around the world as well as for the marketing of Décor-Rest in both Canada and the United States," he said.

Penney began his career in the cutting room of a major high-end upholstery company and has worked in merchandising and buying for retailer Robinsons and in store management for Sears Canada.

He also served as general manager of Canadian fabric distributors Kobe Fabrics and Caya Fabrics and was a board member of the Windows and Walls Fashion Assn.

He reports to Décor-Rest Chief Executive Officer Angelo Marzilli and Chief Operating Officer Christina Marzilli.

Southport Furniture

Elizabethtown, N.C. — Jim Wall has joined case goods importer Southport Furniture here as president, and Greg Beckman has been named vice president of sales and marketing.

McQueen Campbell, president for the past five years, remains chairman of the board.

Beckman's position had been vacant since the departure of Jeff Schwall in 2001. Campbell had been performing sales and marketing duties.

Wall comes to Southport from Hickory Mark, a La-Z-Boy company, where he was president. Beckman has headed his own sales organization.

Kincaid

Hudson, N.C. — Tim Annas has been promoted to vice president of marketing for Kincaid, a new position at the manufacturer and importer of solid-wood case goods.

Annas will oversee the research, design and product development of case goods and occasional for Kincaid and for the company's Alexvale upholstery division.

Previously director of design, Annas has been with Kincaid for 12 years. He has received numerous nominations for furniture design awards in bedroom and dining room, and has received the Pinnacle Design Achievement Award from the American Society of Furniture Designers.

Kincaid is a division of La-Z-Boy.
