Claremont, N.C. — Cargo Transporters has launched an International Operations unit to handle freight from import/export customers and intermodal transportation of product.
"We have been approached by a number of our existing customers in opportunities they have with finding quality transportation and logistics services when it comes to their import and export business," said John Pope, president of Cargo Transporters. "With the start-up of our international operation, we will be able to provide a quality service to move containers to each coast's ports as well as inland rail terminals.
"With our extensive investment in technology, we are equipped to provide superior service as well as information and status updates on shipments that our customers haven't normally received from carriers."
Brad Isenhower has been hired to lead the International Operations sales effort.
"Brad has an extensive background in trucking and especially in international logistics," said Pope. "We are excited about having Brad on board."
John Eckard has been hired to manage the day-to-day operations of the unit.
"John will be a tremendous asset to the company and has a great reputation with his customers for far exceeding their expectations," said Pope. "John has years of experience in dealing with the multiple parties involved in moving freight worldwide."
The Cargo Transporters International Operations unit will be headquartered in Claremont, N.C., along with the company's domestic truckload operations.
