Pittsburgh — The Hardwood Manufacturers Assn. has elected new officers and directors for 2003.
The officers are Dan Harrison, Cersosimo Lumber Co., Brattleboro, Vt., president; Jeff Hanks, Bill Hanks Lumber Co., Danbury, N.C., first vice president; and Tony Parks, Anderson-Tully Co., Vicksburg, Miss.
New members of the board of directors are Bill Rosenberry, Carl Rosenberry & Sons Lumber, Fort Loudon, Pa.; Ron Gelbrich, Cascade Hardwood, Chehalis, Wash.; Lyman Shipley, Coastal Lumber Co., Weldon, N.C.; Charlie Netterville, Fred Netterville Lumber Co., Woodville, Miss.; Herbert Kwasniewski, J.C. Lumber Co., Elkins, W.Va.; Paul Johnson, Johnson Bros. Lumber Co., Cazenovia, N.Y.; Jim DePerri, Monadnock Forest Products, Jaffrey, N.H.; John Jones, Ward Timber Co., Linden, Texas; and Al Whitson Jr., Whitson Lumber Co., Clarksville, Tenn.

Honors
Int'l Wood Products Assn.
Alexandria, Va. — Henry Stoll, director of the Interafrican Forest Industries Assn. and president of Congolaise Industrielle de Bois, has been honored by the International Wood Products Assn. with its Distinguished Service Award for his work in the tropical timber industry.
His company decided in 2001 not to log the Goualogo Triangle, one of the last rainforests in Africa, giving up its legal rights. It was the first time a timber company working in Africa had voluntarily turned over virgin forest in the name of conservation.

Linwood, Pa. — Vishal Malhotra has been named director of marketing at supplier Foamex.
He is responsible for business growth planning, new market development, developing and implementing marketing and communications strategies, and foam product management.
Malhotra previously worked at Ansell.
