OFMA: Hanna follows Ashton
Michael J. Knell -- Furniture Today, May 4, 2003
Mississauga, Ontario — David Hanna has been named executive vice president of the Ontario Furniture Manufacturers Assn., succeeding Derek Ashton, who is retiring for personal reasons.
Hanna's appointment is effective June 15.
In February, Hanna was named OFMA's director of member services, responsible for recruiting new members, implementing new programs and coordinating the Canadian Home Furnishing Awards program.
Prior to joining the association, he held a number of industry senior sales and marketing posts, most recently as vice president of sales and marketing for Korson Furniture. Before that, he served as Canadian sales manager for Robert Allen Fabrics.
Hanna also had been a member of the CHFA steering committee.
Ashton was named OFMA executive vice president in early 2002. Before that, he was president of bedroom producer Durham Furniture.
"Derek has made tremendous contributions to the OFMA, both as executive vice president and before that as a member of the board," said Gerry Cockerill, immediate past president of the factory trade group. "He will continue making those contributions by taking on various projects for the association after his official departure."
