Nashua, N.H. — Bernie & Phyl's Furniture has donated $12,000 worth of furniture to Goodwill Inds. of the Merrimack Valley to support the organization's job training programs in the area.
Bernie & Phyl's "Friends In Need" program donates furniture to charitable organizations in need in all areas where the company has stores. Since 2000, the retailer has donated more than $300,000 worth of furniture to the Morgan Memorial Goodwill Inds. in Boston, and also has helped furnish all the homes that Habitat for Humanity builds in Boston and Nashua.
"We are excited to be expanding our donation program throughout New Hampshire. Through Goodwill, we are now able to touch even more people in need in Massachusetts and New Hampshire," said Bernie Rubin, co-founder and president of the Norton, Mass.-based retailer.
