Calligaris doubling Calif. facility
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, June 22, 2003
High Point — Contemporary case goods resource Calligaris USA plans to double the size of its West Coast distribution center in San Leandro, Calif., from 5,000 to 10,000 square feet.
The move is a response to the growth of the Italian case goods maker's business on the West Coast. The expansion, to be completed by July, will allow Calligaris to grow its two-week quick-ship program.
The company also has added several items to the program from this year's introductions, bringing the total quick-ship availability to about 400 SKUs.
Calligaris opened a distribution center in High Point in 1998, and added the San Leandro facility in 2001. The company said sales in the United States are increasing 45% a year.
