Charlotte, N.C. — BASF Corp. is increasing prices on all acrylic polymers for the textile and other industries in North America, effective May 1.
The company said the price increase ranges from 6% to 8% per wet pound and is necessary to cover sustained increases in raw material costs.
BASF Corp. is the North American affiliate of BASF AG, a German-based company that employs 90,000 people worldwide and had sales of $29 billion in 2001. In North America, where the company employs about 14,000 people, 2001 sales were $6.9 billion.
BASF's products include crude oil, natural gas, chemicals, plastics, coating systems and agricultural products.
