Specialty Sleep Assn. salutes four leaders

Las Vegas — The Specialty Sleep Assn. honored four specialty sleep leaders here.
In an awards presentation during the Futon and Specialty Sleep Expo, the association named Ergo Customized Comfort of Irvine, Calif., as its 2002 Retailer of the Year.
Ergo's president, Michael Nermon, received the award "for excellence in the advancement of consumer awareness, merchandising, commitment and customer service."
The Manufacturer of the Year award went to Boyd Specialty Sleep.
Denny Boyd, president, accepted the award, which recognized Boyd "for product quality and design, customer service, commitment and trade relations."
The Manufacturer's Representative of the Year award went to Tom Young, Tempur-Pedic's regional sales manager for Southern California. He was saluted "for outstanding service, commitment and product knowledge."
The SSA also presented the International Service of Excellence award. It was given to Toru Watanabe, president of HB Dream Bed Co. of Japan. He was recognized "in appreciation for years of dedication, commitment and promotion of the specialty sleep industry internationally."
The awards were presented by Denny Boyd, SSA president, and Dale Read, SSA vice president.
