Woolrich, Pa. — Woolrich, which has been making casual, durable apparel and other outdoor-themed products since 1830, plans to launch a licensed line of furniture and other home goods in October.
Case goods, upholstery, rugs and other home products are expected to debut at the fall High Point market, the company said, with licensing partners announced soon.
"Because of the incredible success of our Home and Outdoor Living division, we believe the timing is right for a full line of Woolrich home furnishings," said Dennis Marxen, vice president of international and home licensing.
The company's existing home products include blankets, throws, accents and related items.
The additional home goods are expected to be in keeping with the brand's casual, outdoor lifestyle image. Furniture is likely to be midpriced, a spokesman said.
In addition to furniture and rugs, the company also is working on licensed lines of lighting, decorative accessories, tabletop, table linens and outdoor furniture. Marxen will oversee development of the new Home Division.
"Currently we are working with several potential brand partners," he said. "We expect to announce licensing agreements in the next few months."
Woolrich, which says it is the oldest continuously operated U.S. apparel marketer and manufacturer, already has a number of licensees selling its existing products worldwide.
