Long joins Crypton Fabrics
Susan M. Andrews -- Furniture Today, March 16, 2003
Greensboro, N.C. — Linda Long has joined Crypton Super Fabrics to head a push into the residential furniture market.
Long, based here, will lead sales and marketing efforts for Crypton Style. Crypton is a performance fabric developed about 10 years ago by Craig and Randy Rubin, co-owners of Hi-Tex Corp., based in West Bloomfield, Mich.
Previously vice president of sales and marketing at Arpel Leather, Long is a textile industry veteran with a background in technical fabrics. She began her career as an industrial engineer at Collins & Aikman and was with Guilford Mills before joining Arpel three years ago.
"I'm really looking forward to working with Randy and Craig again," Long said. "They were actually customers of mine when I was at Guilford Mills. We make a good team and technical fabrics have always been my area of expertise."
"We are delighted to have Linda aboard to take Crypton Style to the next dimension," said Randy Rubin.
Long also will interface with the Crypton Care division, which manufactures upholstery cleaners.
