Mattress Firm implementing GERS system

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, March 16, 2003

Sofware provider GERS Retail Systems said that Top 100 retailer Mattress Firm will replace its current system with GERS Electronic Retail Enterprise.

The Houston-based bedding specialist will implement GERS Customer1 for managing customers' transactions at the point of service, Enterprise1 for core business transactions, CreditConnect for private-label credit processing, and RetailAnalyst for measuring business performance.

By implementing a complete, integrated system, Mattress Firm can access customer and sales information in real time, improve inventory control, expedite credit processing and leverage analytical tools for greater profitability, GERS said.

"GERS ranked the highest on the scorecard, and demonstrated that they could help us reduce shrinkage, improve inventory management, increase turns and deliver a greater GMROI, said Jim Black, Mattress Firm chief financial officer. "That, along with its implementation methodology, offered us a greater chance of success and the highest overall value."
