Gary Haddock, former Hyundai Furniture VP
Greensboro, N.C. — Gary Haddock, former vice president of sales for manufacturer Hyundai Furniture, has died. He was 63.
Haddock began his industry career in 1972 with Thomasville Furniture Inds. and also had worked for other manufacturers, including Hood Furniture, before joining Hyundai. He left the company in 2001, about a year before it closed, and worked as a consultant until he retired for health reasons in September.
Survivors include his wife, Gail; two sons, Louis Markham Haddock and Kinsey C. Haddock, both multi-line furniture sales representatives; three sisters and two grandchildren.

Beth Baker Howse, Karastan executive
Atlanta — Beth Baker Howse, director of creative services for rug resource Karastan, has died of breast cancer. She was 51.
She spent her entire career in the carpet and rug industry, working for Galaxy Carpets and World Carpets before joining Karastan in 1995.
At Karastan, she developed one of the company's most successful retailer sales incentive programs and was an early proponent of the Internet and electronic technology.
Howse is survived by her husband, two sons, two daughters and three brothers.
Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
