Sangiorgio to show line in Green Drive building

High Point — Contemporary Italian case goods manufacturer Sangiorgio is putting the final touches on a new freestanding showroom at 501 West Green Drive here that will nearly triple its presentation at the April market.
The building, which Sangiorgio purchased last year, gives the company 18,000 square feet, compared to 6,200 square feet in its former space in the International Home Furnishings Center.
"We'll be able to show our entire line instead of a cross section," said Bill Bernat, vice president of sales. "We're remodeling and we'll be ready in time for April market."
In addition to new landscaping and some exterior work, Sangiorgio is investing several hundred thousand dollars to renovate the building's interior.
Sangiorgio will add new starting price points this market.
"We are coming out with some promotionally priced product, as well as new veneered groups, because our dealers are telling us that's where more of their business is heading," Bernat said. "We've also gotten more into collections, instead of just bedroom and dining, with entertainment walls and occasional tables."
Also on tap is a ready-to-assemble line and new home entertainment.
