Ethan Allen to test kids store
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, March 9, 2003
Danbury, Conn. — Ethan Allen will soon test standalone kids stores in a move to make more space for its redesigned Ethan Allen Kids line.
While the kids collection was designed as a store-within-a-store concept, many of the company's stores have limited space, said Ethan Allen Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Farooq Kathwari in a press release.
The company is opening "several standalone Ethan Allen Kids stores in strategic locations" as a test case, he said.
An Ethan Allen spokeswoman declined to provide additional details — such as the number of stores planned, their ownership, location and size — saying it was too early and none had been opened yet.
Ethan Allen is an upscale manufacturer and retailer with more than 300 company-owned and licensed stores in the United States, Canada, Mexico and overseas.
