Norton, Mass. — Bernie & Phyl's Furniture has donated $55,000 worth of furniture to Morgan Memorial Goodwill Inds., adding to the more than $300,000 in furniture donations the retailer has made to Goodwill since 2000.
Bernie & Phyl's "Friends In Need" program, launched in April 2000, gives furniture to charitable organizations and homeless shelters across Massachusetts. The program has supported Habitat for Humanity Boston, The Salvation Army, Pine Street Inn, Brockton Teen Challenge and the Greater Nashua Visitation Center.
"It is our goal to touch as many people as we can through our Friends In Need program," said Bernie Rubin, co-founder and president of Bernie & Phyl's. "Through Goodwill, we are able to reach many people in need on many levels."
