Crocker is Fraenkel president
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, February 16, 2003
Baton Rouge, La. — Veteran furniture industry executive Ray Crocker has been named president of Fraenkel Co., a furniture producer, importer and distributor based here.
Most recently, Crocker was on the faculty at Appalachian State University's Walker School of Business in Boone, N.C., but he spent many years as an executive at Lea Inds., Lilly Inds. and Valspar.
He was general manager of Lilly's specialty products division and became president of the wood coatings division at Valspar after that company acquired Lilly in 2000.
"Ray has financial and operations experience as well as international exposure," said Harvey Hoffman, Fraenkel's chairman and chief executive officer. "He has the talent and temperament needed to lead our company through the next generation of its growth."
Crocker's hiring marks the first time Fraenkel has gone outside the company to select a president, Hoffman said.
Hoffman had been serving as chairman, president and CEO since April 2000, when then-president Bruce Minkoff left Fraenkel to take a post with distributor Woodson & Bozeman.
