Englander signs Philly licensee

New Tazewell, Tenn. — Englander, the bedding licensing arm of upholstery maker England, has signed its 10th licensee, White Cross Sleep Products of Philadelphia.
Established in 1938, White Cross is a third-generation business led by Harvey Freeman, president, and his two sons. It will service eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and Washington.
"White Cross is a well-established business whose management brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the sleep products field, and will be a strong addition to the Englander organization," said Dave Clark, vice president of Englander.
The new licensee moves Englander closer to its goal of marketing to national accounts, Clark said.
All 10 Englander licensees soon will begin producing the company's patented Adjusta-Comfort bedding, which allows consumers to achieve different firmness levels on the same bed using foam inserts.
Clark called foam "a time-trusted material" as opposed to an inflatable air mattress or water-filled compartments, which are used by other producers to achieve varying firmness levels.
Englander plans to introduce a new latex insert to its Adjusta-Comfort bedding at the April market in High Point.
