Cliffside, N.C. — A new management team is in place at Cone Jacquards, the decorative fabric division of denim giant Cone Mills.
Larry Wright, a turnaround specialist before he joined Cone in 2001, is president of the division, and 40-year textile veteran Jim Garner, who returned to Cone in 2002, is vice president of merchandising.
Debra Richie, a former Cone sales representative, also has returned and is handling sales to the furniture industry. She is based in High Point.
"We're focusing on building closer relationships with our customers and evaluating what markets we should be in as we work to restore Cone Jacquards to where it was a couple of years ago when it was running at full capacity," Garner said.
Cone Jacquards offers everything from narrow fabrics for engineered pillow patterns to 54-inch upholstery fabrics, and up to 135 inches for top-of-the-bed and other decorative segments. The company also weaves outdoor fabrics and does weaving for some converters.
