San Francisco — The Western Home Furnishings Assn. has elected Mary Ann Levitt of Breuners Arizona in Scottsdale as 2003 president. She was installed at the WHFA Retailer Resource Center during the San Francisco Winter Market.
Levitt is a fourth-generation home furnishings store owner. She has been a member of WHFA since 1993 and has served on the board since 1994. She also is a member of the board of the National Home Furnishings Assn.
"WHFA has been a part of my business life for a long time and has given me so much," she said. "I am now honored to give back and serve the members as president."
Seven new members have joined WHFA's board: Marty Cramer, Cramer's Home Center, Ellensburg, Wash.; Joe Hules, Thomasville, Las Vegas; Michael Jedlowski, Ashley Home Stores, Las Vegas; Doug Kays, Premiere Home Furnishings, West Los Angeles; Tom Mauro, Treasures, San Diego; Kelly Rodrigues, Jerome's, San Diego; and David Siegel, Summer's, Bakersfield, Calif.
Also, the WHFA welcomed Richard Cazares and Saul Mendoza of Coppel Furniture in Fresno, Calif., to the trade association as it reached the 1,000-member mark. They signed up for membership at the San Francisco market.
"This milestone achievement just shows how active and vital WHFA is in the industry," said Sharron Bradley, WHFA executive director. "The membership has doubled in less than seven years, and we are on course for record membership growth this year."
The WHFA serves retailers in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington.
