Toms joins High Point board

High Point — Paul Toms Jr., chairman of Hooker Furniture, and Jeff Miller, president of the High Point Regional Health System, have been named to the board of directors of the International Home Furnishings Market Authority.
Toms is one of two board members appointed by the American Furniture Manufacturers Assn. and Miller is the High Point Chamber of Commerce representative. They replace Andy Counts, AFMA executive vice president, and Doug Harrison, owner of Batteries Plus in High Point.
AFMA's other representative, Kincaid Furniture's Steve Kincaid, has been the board's chairman since its inception in July 2001.
Other board members are High Point Mayor Arnold Koonce; Randy Short, Stanford Furniture; Bruce Miller, International Home Furnishings Center; Tom Mitchell, Merchandise Mart Properties Inc.; Joanna Easter, Showplace; and Clif Taylor, of High Point's Radisson Hotel.
