El Dorado opening draws crowd
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, February 9, 2003
Miami — El Dorado Furniture drew nearly 400 consumers in the first five minutes of the grand opening of the store that replaced its original store here.
The South Florida retail powerhouse wouldn't release opening-day sales figures, but the store drew 5,000 people during the weekend, said Robert Capo, chief marketing officer.
Earlier in the week, El Dorado threw a preview party attracting some 250 people, including four sales representatives who were among the first to call on the original store 36 years ago.
