By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, January 26, 2003
Hickory, N.C. — The first Generations of Pride award to a manufacturing industry veteran will be given on opening day of the 23rd annual Hickory Furniture Suppliers Show Feb. 6–7 in the Hickory Metro Convention Center.
The award honors a person who has been in the industry 20 years or longer, and has an ongoing commitment to the good of the furniture industry.
"We're very pleased with the response to this new award," said Jamie Treadaway, executive director of Hickory Mart Shows. "Many people in the industry were eager to tell us about individuals they believe to be deserving of this honor."
The winner will be recognized at the all-industry cocktail party on opening day. Hickory Mart Shows will grant a scholarship in the recipient's honor to a student who plans a career in the furniture industry.
