ISPA makes changes to its staff
Blatt hiring, other promotions aimed at advancing strategic plan

Alexandria, Va. — The International Sleep Products Assn. has made several staff changes in line with its goal of advancing its strategic plan.
Dick Doyle, ISPA president, who joined the association last year, said he is pleased with the expertise of the newly hired and promoted personnel.
"Their contributions will be critical in achieving the goals of our new strategic plan, which emphasizes better value for members and improved communications," Doyle said.
ISPA has hired Nancy Blatt as vice president of communications, responsible for communications and public relations. Her career includes 12 years with the Water Environment Federation, most recently as director of public information.
Ryan Trainer, formerly general counsel at ISPA, has been named executive vice president and general counsel. He oversees ISPA's expanding industry advocacy program, in conjunction with Shawn Conrad, executive vice president, government relations, and Pat Martin, vice president of research and statistics. Before joining ISPA, Trainer was a partner with the Washington law firm of Clifford Chance, where he worked with ISPA as a client.
Debi Sutton, most recently ISPA's director of marketing and communications, has been promoted to vice president of marketing and member services. Before joining ISPA in 2001, she was director of marketing at the Water Environment Federation.
Brendan Campbell has been retained by ISPA to cover advertising sales for its magazines Bedtimes and Sleep Savvy, plus sponsorships and exhibit sales for trade shows. Campbell, who is president of 1Source4U in Haymarket, Va., has previously provided sales support for organizations including the American Chemistry Council, where Doyle worked as vice president before joining ISPA.
Campbell assumes duties formerly handled by longtime ISPA executive Susan Perry, who has left the bedding association and launched her own company, The Perry Group. The company will provide sales support and meetings and events management for a variety of clients.
Deborah Chapman, formerly part-time ISPA production manager, has joined ISPA full-time as director of marketing and member services. Among her duties are work on ISPA's Web site enhancements and a weekly member newsletter.
Tania Olsen, formerly manager of meeting services for the American Chemistry Council, has been named director of meetings and trade show management.
