Snow couldn't snuff Cotton Inc. celebration
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, January 12, 2003
New York — The snow storm that blanketed the East Coast in December didn't deter some 200-plus guests from attending the Cotton Inc. "Celebration of American Life" at the Metropolitan Museum of Art here.
Cotton Inc. executives expected about 320 guests, but when the snow flew they figured about 170 would attend. Actually, about 210 people showed up to celebrate.
The evening's activities including the viewing of an exhibit, "The Legacy of Genghis Khan," and a fashion presentation of five designers as "The Best in American Cotton Design," as well as the dinner in the museum's famed Temple of Dendur section.
