FBI's import organization changes name
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, January 12, 2003
St. Louis — Furniture Brands International said its import organization, formerly Outlook International, has changed its name to Furniture Brands Import Service.
The service, with more than 150 employees, coordinates and oversees production and quality control for all FBI product made in Far East factories.
The company is independently owned but has an exclusive arrangement with the manufacturer.
"While the change is in name only, and does not represent an acquisition by Furniture Brands International, it does represent a major initiative in Furniture Brands' import strategy," said Mickey Holliman, FBI chairman, president and chief executive officer.
"The change will enhance Furniture Brands' name recognition with vendors and partners in Asia, further strengthening our position as the dominant industry leader both at home and abroad."
