By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, January 5, 2003
Chino, Calif. — Specialized furniture carrier Palmer Transport Corp. has expanded its operations in North Carolina and hired transportation industry veteran Rowland Branham to head its Eastern region operations.
Palmer opened a terminal in Archdale, N.C. in 2001 and has since doubled its size, from 14 doors to 28 doors and from 20,000 to 40,000 square feet.
Branham brings 27 years of experience in transportation, including management stints with specialized furniture carriers W&L Motor Lines and Shelba D. Johnson Trucking.
"Despite a turndown in the furniture industry (in 2001), we had a record year, and we're running about 34% ahead of that for (2002)," said Don Palmer, president and owner of Palmer Transport.
