Mohawk Home appoints Quist

Sugar Valley, Ga. — James Quist has been named vice president and national sales manager for Mohawk Home, reporting to Bill Kilbride, president of the Mohawk Inds.' rug division.
Previously, Quist was vice president of sales and marketing of the Bretlin division of the Dixie Group. At Mohawk, he succeeds John McLeod, who was named vice president of sales for the Burlington Rug Division of Yanoor Corp.
Quist's appointment is part of a realignment of Mohawk sales and marketing executives.
In another move, Merle Johnson has returned to Mohawk as vice president of marketing. Her responsibilities will include licensing, brand management, media relations and new marketing initiatives with Mohawk Home, in cooperation with Mohawk Inds. She will be based in New York and will report to Kilbride.
Jeff Jacobs, who had been vice president of marketing, has been named vice president of merchandising for the department and specialty store channels of distribution.
Michael Tierney has been named Mohawk Home's vice president of sales, reporting to Quist. Previously, Tierney was at Pillowtex, where he was vice president of sales, national accounts.
Beth Murphy has been named business manager for Mohawk's Kohls Department Stores account. Most recently, she was business manager for the Kmart account.
Diana Stavros has been named business manager for Sears, The Great Indoors and Land's End account.
