FMG Symposium set for Feb.
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, January 5, 2003
Las Vegas — The Furniture Marketing Group, a member-owned networking and buying cooperative, will hold its 2003 Symposium at the Venetian Hotel here Feb 1–4.
Highlights will include a session by Connie Post, chief executive officer of the Connie Post Cos., titled: "Ten Ideas for Affordable Change." In offering actionable ideas to boost business, she will explore how to keep brand identity fresh through continuous reinvention, the importance of differentiation, what matters to consumers now, and how to evoke an emotional response in stores.
David J. Karnofel, representing the Geneva Cos., will present a session titled, "How to Maximize the Value of Your Business." Another speaker, Chad Rosenberg of Global Link Logistics, will lead a discussion on current and future trends concerning the logistics of furniture imports. The agenda includes sessions on merchandising and best idea contests, as well as local store tours.
Networking and sharing information are some of the key benefits of membership in FMG and the symposium is an annual highlight, said Richard Gill, FMG president and owner of Gill Bros. Furniture in Muncie, Ind.
