High Point — Yarn specialist Unifi is exhibiting for the first time at Showtime here this week, and has joined the International Textile Market Assn.'s list of its educational foundation sponsors. ITMA organizes the Showtime fabric markets each January and July.
"As Unifi continues to strengthen its presence as a global leader in providing high-quality fibers and yarns, becoming a sponsor of ITMA and Showtime was an integral part of our strategy," said Kimberley Lewis, director of marketing.
At Showtime, Unifi aims to show the industry the range of its offerings, including its ability to package dye or solution dye fibers and yarns for everything from upholstery to underwear.
"Many of our customers and potential customers aren't aware of Unifi's ability to dye almost any type of yarn in existence," said Ron Mangrum, business unit director of dyed and airjet textured products. "We are using Showtime as an opportunity to educate other companies about the types of products and services Unifi offers, particularly in the home upholstery market. Unifi is truly a one-stop-shop — from producing the yarn, to dyeing the yarn, we can do it all."
Unifi is one of the world's largest producers and processors of textured yarns. The company's primary business is the texturing, dyeing, twisting, covering and beaming of multi-filament polyester and nylon yarns.
