Lewis Simon, sales rep
Houston — Retired sales representative Lewis I. Simon died June 16, on his 82nd birthday.
Simon founded K.C.S. & Associates, a multi-line selling organization in the Southwest, and represented such companies as Pulaski, Barcalounger, Artmaster Studios, Eastwood and Wilshire. In the 1970s, he bought out his original partners and brought in his sons, Richard and Larry, who continue to operate the company today.
Lewis Simon helped transform Leedo Cabinetry from a kitchen cabinet maker into a successful home office and entertainment furniture manufacturer, and also was involved in making American Desk, which had been a stadium seating and school desk specialist, into a residential furniture manufacturer.
"He was known for his uncompromising character and anyone with whom he did business will acknowledge his honesty and integrity," said Larry Simon.
When Lewis Simon retired in 1997, he became active in the Texas Institute of Rehabilitation and Research, a foundation that assists paraplegics, quadriplegics and others with severe physical handicaps. He received awards for his work with the group.
He is survived by his wife, three sons and several grandchildren.

Jerry Small, manufacturer's rep
Pittsburgh — Jerry Small, a manufacturer's representative for several companies for more than 35 years, has died. He was 75.
He represented companies including Pulaski Furniture, Homecrest Inds. and Glideaway Mfg. He earned the Salesman of the Year award from Pulaski for outstanding sales presentation, growth and achievement.
Survivors include his wife and two sons, Richard Small and Chuck Small, who followed him in the business.
