Reebok International

Canton, Mass. — Barry Tatelman, chief executive officer of Avon, Mass.-based retailer Jordan's Furniture, has been elected to the board of footwear, apparel and sports equipment maker Reebok International.

He also is vice president of the Anti-Defamation League and on the board of the Genesis Fund and MA Adoption Resource Exchange.

Tatelman and brother Eliot founded Jordan's in 1972.

Loomcraft Tessuti

Greensboro, N.C. — Sheri McAdams has joined fabric supplier Loomcraft Tessuti as director of design and merchandising.

She previously was director of merchandising for Home Impressions and vice president of merchandising at BenchCraft.

Franco Nannucci is president of Loomcraft Tessuti, a division of Loomcraft Textiles created last year to launch a line of upscale imported upholstery fabrics.

Pier 1 Imports

Fort Worth, Texas — Marvin J. Girouard, chairman and chief executive officer of retailer Pier 1 Imports, has been named Fort Worth's Outstanding Business Executive of the Year by the Fort Worth Business Hall of Fame.

He joined Pier 1 in 1975 and was named senior vice president in 1985. He was appointed CEO in 1998 and chairman in 1999.

House of Denmark

Rochester, Mich. — Peter Vercellino, marketing manager and lead buyer for home and office furniture retailer House of Denmark, has retired after 33 years with the company.

Margaret Whitcomb, a 25-year furniture industry veteran, will assume Vercellino's buyer post, while Shawn Olsen, director of retail, will take over his marketing responsibilities.

House of Denmark, owned by John Bech, sells Scandinavian-style furniture at five stores throughout Michigan.

Tri-State Furniture Distributors

Melville, N.Y. — Lester Kay is retiring from Tri-State Furniture Distributors, a 36-store furniture co-op here, after more than 30 years in the furniture industry.

He began his furniture industry career as a group manager and furniture buyer for Macy's New York for 16 years. From there, he joined Fashion Home Furniture Co-op as a buyer and general manager, then founded Tri-State and held the post of general manager for five years.

Sales

Harden Mfg.

Haleyville, Ala. — Terry Furr has been named to the newly created position of merchandise manager for wood furniture importer Harden Mfg. here.

Furr most recently was vice president of sales for Florida Furniture Inds.

In his new post, he reports to Craig Smith, president of Harden.
