FDC sets Nov. 21 fund-raising auction

High Point — The Furniture Discovery Center will deck the halls with bows of holly and lots more when it hosts Hanging Out at the Furniture Discovery Center, a silent auction featuring custom-designed wreaths, tabletop trees and furniture, at the FDC at 6 p.m. Nov. 21. All proceeds will benefit the center's capital campaign for renovation and renewal.
Leading the list of items for auction is a Christmas hope chest from the Jaclyn Smith Collectables line by Largo International. The winter-white, cedar-lined chest with removable trays and ornate metal details is a signature piece of the collection.
"We are thrilled to have a piece of this caliber and level of romance to kick off our special event," said Janet Flynn, executive director of the FDC. "We're grateful for her support and for the support of Largo International."
The auction also will feature wreaths and tabletop trees created by designers, celebrities, and industry publications and personalities, as well as local community leaders.
