Austin, Texas — Imports by Four Hands again has been named to Inc magazine's Inc 500, the publication's list of the nation's fastest-growing private companies.
The list ranks entrepreneurial firms according to sales growth over five years.
Imports by Four Hands was ranked No. 342 on the 2002 list, with sales growth of 682% over the past five years, from $1 million in 1997 to $8 million in 2001.
The Austin-based company is an importer and wholesaler of hand-crafted Asian furniture and accessories.
"It is quite an honor to be among the Top 500 fastest-growing private companies in America for the second year in a row," said Brett Hatton, president and chief executive officer of Four Hands. "Commitment and attention to detail has allowed us to propel the company to the heights it has reached since 1996."
The average five-year growth rate of this year's Inc 500 was 1,521%, less than last year's list average of 1,933% but still impressive in light of economic conditions. Average 2001 sales for the Inc 500 dropped slightly from nearly $25 million to $24.7 million.
