Hickory, N.C. — Century Furniture will reopen a showroom for the interior design trade in New York.
The showroom, scheduled for a soft opening in December, will be on the second floor of 200 Lexington Ave., where the high-end manufacturer previously had a showroom.
In March or April, the company will open a showroom in Market Place Design Center in Philadelphia, said Bob Maricich, president. These two showrooms will join those already open in Laguna, Calif., Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington.
"I'm high on our connecting more with the 'to the trade' channel, predominantly because more consumers are using designers in some form or another," Maricich said. "It's one more attempt in our marketing efforts to align ourselves with this community."
He said his goal is to open two designer showrooms a year for the next few years.
