City of Hope honors Klein, Waxman

Greensboro, N.C. — Each year, the City of Hope presents the Spirit of Life Award to outstanding volunteers who have made a commitment to helping the hospital and medical center, which provides care and conducts research for diseases including cancer.
This year's awards for outstanding service were presented to John Klein of retailer Wickes Furniture, Wheeling, Ill., and Norman Waxman of manufacturer Schnadig.
The annual City of Hope dinner at the Sheraton Four Seasons here during the fall market drew nearly 900 home furnishings industry people and raised more than $1.5 million for the charity.
