Section A denied for 36 companies

Washington — Thirty-six Chinese companies filled out Section A questionnaires for the U.S. Department of Commerce's antidumping investigation, but were rejected for Section A status and its 10.92% import duty.
Wood bedroom furniture imported into the United States from these companies is now subject to the 198.08% all-China rate. Other companies that didn't fill out questionnaires also are subject to the all-China rate.
Essentially, to qualify for the 10.92% duty, companies must show that they do not have what the DOC considers undue support from the Chinese government, whether by law or in practice. The DOC also can reject a request for the Section A rate if it deems a manufacturer provided incomplete or inaccurate information.
Since the questionnaires contain detailed financial information, often about private companies, manufacturer responses to the investigation are not available for public viewing. But the DOC has disclosed the names of companies that sought Section A status but were denied. They are:
