Merchandise Mart adding showrooms

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, July 26, 2004

The Merchandise Mart plans to convert its seventh floor to showrooms from its previous use as Chicago Transit Authority offices, adding 100,000 square feet of exhibit space for trade shows.

When the conversion is completed in January 2005, dedicated square footage for the Chicago Gift & Home Market will grow to 1.05 million on six floors of the mart. Current second-floor Market Suites exhibitors will move to the seventh floor, and all temporary exhibitors will be located on the seventh and eighth floors.

This summer's Chicago Gift & Home Market will run July 21–28. For information, visit the Web site www.merchandisemart.com.
