Berry joins Johnston/Tombigbee Mfg.

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, August 18, 2004

COLUMBUS, Miss. -- Duke Berry has joined case goods producer Johnston/Tombigbee Mfg. as vice president of retail sales.

Berry, the grandson of company founder Russell B. Johnston and brother of JTB President Reau Berry, is back in case goods manufacturing after 15 years in upholstery manufacturing and at retail. Most recently, he had a store in Memphis, Tenn., Duke’s Furniture, which has closed.

He replaces Jimmy Fleming, who left Johnston/Tombigbee and has started a retail business in Memphis called Fleming Furniture Direct.

Duke Berry will be responsible for product development, sales force management and marketing for the company’s retail, rental and import divisions.

“We are very excited to have Duke join our management group and believe his experience will be a great asset to JTB,” said Reau Berry. “His input will be highly valued as JTB expands its retail lines.”
