Bloomingdale's restructures furniture buying organization
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, January 2, 2005
New York — In a move that reflects the increased role of planning and logistics in its furniture business, Bloomingdale's department store has restructured its buying organization and expanded its planning team.
"We are increasing our support team for the buyers with an expanded staff of assistant buyers and planning staff," said Joe Laneve, senior vice president.
Michelle Klein and Jennifer Zuppe are now buyers for all furniture except bedding. Klein, who previously was buyer for bedroom, dining room and wall units, has responsibilities for all living room furniture, including fabric and leather upholstery, occasional, wall units and dividers. Zuppe, formerly buyer for Ralph Lauren upholstery and case goods, occasional and recliners, now will buy Ralph Lauren and all bedroom and dining room.
Previously, Moon Ho bought upholstery and leather. She resigned from the store last month and plans to launch an import design and production business.
Bloomingdale's has 32 stores, 18 with furniture.
