Baer takes NHFA's helm

High Point — Jerry Baer, senior vice president of sales at Baer's Furniture in Pompano Beach, Fla., took office Jan. 1 as 2005 president of National Home Furnishings Assn.
He succeeds Dennis Novosel of Stoney Creek Furniture, Stoney Creek, Ontario, who moves to chairman of the NHFA executive committee.
Senior vice presidents of the retailer trade group are Mary Ann Levitt, Breuners Arizona, Scottsdale, Ariz., and Wogan Badcock III, W.S. Badcock Corp., Mulberry, Fla. Doug Kays of Premiere Home Furnishings, West Los Angeles, Calif., is treasurer.
New directors are Andrew Tepperman, Tepperman's, Windsor, Ontario; Mark Dufresne, Dufresne Furniture & Appliance, Winnipeg, Manitoba; David Masin, Masin's, Seattle; Ronny Bensimon, Dearden's, Los Angeles; Greg Follett, Follett's Furniture, Lewiston, Idaho; and Jim McCullaugh, Domain Home Furnishings, Norwood, Mass.
They will serve a one-year term, joining other directors serving longer terms.
